Wilford Smith is delighted to announce that we will be collaborating with Elite Conveyancing to launch an exciting new venture which promises to revolutionise the conveyancing industry and attract some of the best talent within the field. This strategic partnership offers conveyancing solicitors the opportunity to become self-employed consultants, operating under the Wilford Smith umbrella for compliance and regulatory purposes. We will handle the paperwork, allowing the best talent to take control of their own caseload and focus on providing the kind of client service which makes them really stand out from the crowd.

This joint venture presents a turning point in the way career progression and work-life balance function within the conveyancing industry, opening up a whole world of new options for the industry’s best and brightest. Traditionally, the only route to advancement in a field dominated by large firms is for conveyancers to move into management roles, taking many away from the frontline client interaction which is where they truly shine. Wilford Smith believes that at its core the conveyancing industry should be about excellent client service, and there is no better partner than Elite Conveyancing to help us create the change we wish to see.  As our managing director Dapinder Singh says, Elite Conveyancing “compete on service as opposed to price” and we are very excited to join them on a venture which brings this game-changing approach into the wider conveyancing industry.

Wilford Smith has always shared this vision, and we firmly believe that at the root of all excellent client service are satisfied conveyancers with the kind of work-life balance they deserve. Elite Conveyancing Managing Director Carl Brignell says, “We live and die by the performance of our lawyers and so it was important for us to find a long-term solution that could keep them motivated on the front line whilst at the same time allowing them to progress and share in our continued success.” Our new model allows self-employed consultants a great deal more flexibility than traditional employment as a solicitor, and the shortened pipeline for cases means that their earning potential will actually increase too.

What’s more, we think that this balance can coexist with the growth aspirations of law firms, preventing the traditional conflict between employee wellbeing and the hard work involved in growing a firm’s practice and reputation. This new model allows us to create sustainable growth by building a network of the very best conveyancers throughout the country. Our self-employed consultants will have the flexibility to determine their own work-life balance, whilst our network allows us to reach new markets in ways which previously only the largest firms could achieve. The conveyancing industry has needed a breath of fresh air for far too long and it gives us huge pleasure to be part of the change.
